Mountain House – Rice & Chicken
This has clear instructions and a shelf life of 12 years. Just add water, stir. Stir again after 4 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes. About 9 minutes total cooking time.
This one was my pick. I don’t see any reason why this WOULDN’T be good, delicious maybe. I mean, how can you go wrong with the chicken and rice?!?
Having had, “freeze dried” many times before, long ago, I expect this to be a little better than my past bland experiences. Hoping it doesn’t have the dusty aftertaste I remember.
The chicken and rice was, in fact, delicious. It was my favorite by far. Tasted very similar to chicken and rice casserole that you’d find at any church potluck made by loving hands from a recipe tried and true.
Great taste. A little sticky but not unlike I’ve had from freshly prepared food. I was pleasantly surprised and very few grains of rice were uncooked. I’d do this any day. Good food.
