Backpacker’s Pantry – Fettuccini Alfredo w/Chicken.
This was a just add water and stir recipe. Allow to sit for 13 minutes. It does give an altitude adjustment so I let this sit for 17 minutes. This menu item does take a storage hit, for some reason, it only keeps for 7 years.
To be honest, I’m glad ET picked this one. I wasn’t quite sure about the Jamaican Jerk Chicken. Again, I’m not entirely sure how they can screw this one up.
I am expecting a little of that dusty/dry taste to the sauce. The pasta? Hoping it’s not too chewy or pasty.
The fettuccine was good. Not anywhere near the “delish” category, but nothing to turn my nose up at. It was creamy, but the flavor didn’t quite hit the mark. That, and the few still crunchy noodles mixed in.
-Edit- after a while, I’ve decided that this may require Tums as an after dinner mint.
Well, as we dished this out I realized I had a small unmixed pocket in the corner of the bag. So, I’m going to extend a little grace to the meal. It was a little salty. It did have that chalky taste but not as much as I expected. The noodles were fine, for the most part. They were a little chewy and there were still a few crunchy ones, as well. I attribute those to my poor mixing skills. Taste was like a mediocre Hamburger Helper meal. Still pretty good food.
-TinyTactics said it was “Just, OK”.
-TeenTactics said it was like bad Mac N Cheese…
